14th – 20th Feb 2018 – Sule Alat – Colour Infusion
I am a secondary school teacher and an abstract artist. Abstract art allows me to let the colours dance expressively and I love to make them work in harmony or fight for attention. I like to be free when I am painting; there are no right or wrong ways only happy accidents in this style and every little accident opens another door for discovery. I get inspiration from various sources; one day it might be an emotion, another day it might be flowers in my garden. Sometimes I start a painting with nothing in mind and see where the colours or my mood would take me. As a visual person, colours play important role in my life; certain colours make me happy whatever the mood I am in. Shades of purple and turquoise are my favourites. I mainly work with acrylic paint and experiment with different mediums for texture. My mission is to inject happy colours into people’s lives.
