‘Creative Origins’

Cathy Pascoe, Angie Browning et al

17-23 December 2014

  • Design duo Cathy Pascoe and Angie Browning are urging Christmas shoppers to support independent designers and makers in Cheltenham this Christmas by doing their Christmas shopping at their pop-up gallery style shop ‘Creative Origins’.

  • Unique, locally produced designs and products will be popping up in a Festive showcase at the Gardens Gallery in Montpellier Gardens just in time for Christmas.

  • There will even be an online virtual browsing experience with short creative videos that will pop up on their website (www.creativeoriginsshop.co.uk) streaming daily from their concept shop, introducing you to their designers and makers – you can even watch it on your mobiles!

  • Creative Origins is collaboration between Cathy Pascoe, a jewellery maker with her own line ‘Pink Green’ and Angie Browning, an illustrator and designer with her own studio ‘AngieBStudio’.  They are bringing together a hand-picked selection of creative business owners and producers in Cheltenham for a one week only showcase in the form of a POP-UP gallery style shop, exhibiting original local work.

  • ‘We’re holding it that week before Christmas when everybody panic buys, so we’re saying to everyone; come and chill out, take the stress out of your Christmas gift buying, and source something original with us. We’ve got some really great artists and creative goods producers joining us,’ says Angie who has designed a collection of modern travel posters and stationery.

  • ‘And most of our makers are local to the Cheltenham too,’ says Cathy, a jewellery designer who uses modern Liberty designs and vintage fabrics to adorn her earrings and necklaces. ‘There are so many designers in Gloucestershire that you don’t see in our local shops and we wanted to set something up that says, ‘look, here we are!’

Locally sourced designers and makers taking part include,

  • Grace Gately, Textile designs
  • Lucienne Simpson, Art and prints
  • Keith Browning,  Art and prints
  • Alice Rolfe (Rolfe and Wills), screenprints and designed homewares,

  2. For exhibitors delivering their work, there is a locked bollard to be removed at the gardens entrance. See link below for details.
  3. Unfortunately, there is no disabled parking in the gardens.
  4. Exhibitors should take care to design their exhibition layout with wheelchair use in mind.

 Typical annual foot-fall is 22000.

If we take out the impact of Festivals then the weekly average is 400 per week.
