Big Heart Secret Art Auction

22 October – 23 October 2016

  • The Gardens Gallery is the first stop on the Big Heart Roadshow. Come and join us for a weekend of creativity and fun in Cheltenham! Free admission, family friendly.
  • Scores of artists and celebrities have donated work to the Big Heart so far including Antony Gormley and Cleo Mussi.
  • Come and see the Big Heart exhibition, where we will be showcasing artwork from local and national artists and celebrities. There are 6 Big Heart Exhibitions in total, and each exhibition will showcase a different collection of artwork.
  • The Big Heart Auction will be open online on eBay on 22 November 2016 to 1 December 2016. More details on how to place a bid online will follow shortly. A full listing of the artworks is available on our online gallery at longfield.org.uk/bigheart
  • All the money raised will go to support Longfield’s art for health community programme. This takes places at Longfield and across Gloucestershire in community centres helping our patients use the creative process of producing the artwork as a way to work through the difficulties they may be facing in coming to terms with their life-limiting illness.   • On Saturday 22nd we will be holding an art workshop from 11am-1pm, come along with family and friends and get creative. Have the opportunity to create your own masterpiece!

Please note, all artworks need to be done specifically for the Big Heart Auction, and a Big Heart card needs to be filled out for each artwork.

MONTPELLIER GARDENS

The Gardens were originally developed in the early 1800's and its centrepiece is the Bandstand.

Facing the Bandstand is the Proscenium Building where we now have our Gallery.

ACCESS

  1. There is wheelchair access to the gallery from the path between the tennis courts and the gallery.
  2. For exhibitors delivering their work, there is a locked bollard to be removed at the gardens entrance. See link below for details.
  3. Unfortunately, there is no disabled parking in the gardens.
  4. Exhibitors should take care to design their exhibition layout with wheelchair use in mind.

 Typical annual foot-fall is 22000.

If we take out the impact of Festivals then the weekly average is 400 per week.
