Jackie Harrison

- Art has always been a thread running through the life of Jackie Harrison. As a child she spent many enjoyable times wandering through art galleries with her mother and later shared her love of art with her grandchildren.
- Jackie was a nurse in the Royal Navy and has always been drawn to water living by the sea, and later spending three years near the Spanish coast for coast where the quality of light and vividness of colour sparked her creative imagination. She also became involved in canal restoration projects in Rochdale and later in Stroud.
- Jackie Studied art for Four years and since then has been experimenting freely using photography and the medium of paint to produce art works that express her love of life. She has shown works in a variety of group and solo exhibitions in Cardiff and in the Stroud area.
- About half of the works are created and framed using mainly recycled materials frames created from papier mache becoming in some instance an integral part of the work.
- How often do you come across something that lifts your spirits and makes you smile? This exhibition should do exactly that. With their bursts of colour these paintings are tactile celebrations of the sensuous richness of paint.
