2018 and 2019 in the Gallery

Proposed new signage currently pending planning approval

Gardens Gallery is a Community Art Gallery established in 2007 by local art clubs and Cheltenham Borough Council to provide local artists with a well-equipped Exhibition Space at a reasonable cost.

A more formal brief is “to contribute to the cultural fabric of Cheltenham and its locality by displaying to the local public paintings, sculptures, crafts and other artistic objects created in Gloucestershire”.

Today over 250 artists exhibit in the Gallery each year and attract over 23,000 visitors to the 40 exhibitions held each year. Artists steward their own exhibitions whilst mainly volunteers manage the Gallery.

Hirers must be based in Gloucestershire and be displaying their own work.

Our exhibiting artists come from a rich range of local clubs, societies and individual studios and their work includes wood cuts and carving, raku, ceramics and all painting genres. Each week the Gallery takes on a fresh look and a new character and regular visitors can take in how creative our artists truly are.

If you love your art in 9/8, then come on down to the Gardens Gallery during this year’s Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Featuring the work of artist Rupert Aker, Cheltenham and all that Jazz is a fusion of sound, vision and infotainment, offering a free-form tour of Cheltenham – it’s iconic architecture and Jazz festival venues – through the medium of oil paintings.
